ReplyDelete1) The Author mean by happiness the freedom to do what they want without blame or shame, that would bring benefits for the person and the ones that are related, including their family, friends and the next generations. Some peoples confuses these meaning with hedonism, that is the pursuit of supreme pleasure in life, making anything to feel the best possible.
ReplyDelete2) The beginning and the end of this document are more important than the middle because these are the parts that are carrying the root of the declaration of independence. The middle is related with some grievances against the King George III, that had gave the reasons to people made the declaration of independence. The beginning talks aboute the reason of declaration, the self-evident truths, the purpose of government and the rights that the people can to modify or abolish it and institute a new government.
3) This statement meant that the 13 colonies had no more political connection with Great Britain, and had the full power to conclude peace, to contact alliance and establish commerce by their own.
4) It’s a great document because it works together with constitution, and ensures americans’ rights, equality and power to change the country, if something isn’t going well. The declaration of independence told the rights and the constitution consolidated them!
1)They meant happiness is the freedom to the individuals use their time, talent and resources to look for the ways that could bring them the most satisfaction. It`s very far from the nowadays luxurious thought, it’s to give freedom to an individual them he/she can pursue his/her dreams.
ReplyDelete2)Because in the begging and the end are the 400 more important words which spell out the essence of principles and beliefs upon which United States was founded. The first paragraph presents an introduction and show the problem, the last one is where we can find what they want for the country. In the middle they just say all the bad things England king had made until then.
3)In those time the united states was made from 13 colognes and for the declaration of independence this states should be free to decided and organize their own rules. They should be free from all other countries and be responsible for their own organization but still answer as a union for the country.
4)I think the Declaration is a great document because it was a document to guarantee the right to those who deserved it. It`s a solid document with good arguments and which try to build a solid foundation for a new borned nation
#1 It didn’t have a connotation of hedonism, when the happiness is more important than anything, but meaning that the individuals would have the freedom to use their time, talent and resources to pursue the directions in life that they believed would bring them the most satisfaction.
ReplyDelete#2 The beginning and the end of the declaration, that has 400 words equally split talks about: reason of declaration, self-evident truths, the purpose of the government, reasons for altering or abolishing a form of government, the declaration itself, rights of the sovereign states and the pledges, while the middle of the declaration talks about the abuses of the King George III.
#3 Each one of the 13 colonies, would be turned into states and even united, each state would have all the rights of an independent state and full power and be able to do all other acts and things an independent state of right do.
#4 The Declaration is a great document because it gives the deserved rights to the states and people themselves. It’s an important thing about the United States’s history and the beginning of we can see today.
Question 1:
ReplyDeleteThe authors didn’t mean by “happiness” as a full enjoyment of life narrowly represented by extremely pleasure, but as a right of being free, using time, wit and resources to follow the right ways in life, benefiting others and gaining satisfaction.
Question 2:
Because those paragraphs are respectively the introduction and the conclusion of the Independence Declaration. It means that the most significant points are included in those words. Although the middle of the document is about over 25 abuses of King George III in a period of 10 years, it is not that important in comparison to the first and last parts.
Question 3:
It was meant that the colonies would not have any relation to the Great Britain anymore, such as political and commercial connections. The 13 colonies would be independent from each other and they would have rights, power and privileges as a United Nation.
Question 4:
Because the Declaration is also a document that guarantees that the Government has to work together with the Constitution, ensuring individuals’ rights.
1. The authors meant that everyone will have freedom to choose how to spend their time, talent and resources in actions they believe would benefit their family, friends and future generations. And would bring them the most satisfaction.
ReplyDelete2. While the middle outline over 25 abuses of the king George III, the beginnig and the end of the declaration describe the essence of the principles and beliefs upon which the United States was founded.
3. Their were not dissolving the 13 colonies into a one national government, but each one of the 13 colonies would be a independent sovereign state with their own rules and the same rights that others states had.
4. Because this document established the basic rights of the state and the individuals like life, liberty and pursuit of happiness and it was made to work together with tha constitution.
1- Hapiness for them is to achieve the freedom of having their own ideias and being able to express themselves without being punished.
ReplyDelete2 - Because the middle is all about the terrible things king George had done to people, which differs from the beginning and the end that explain well the main points about why the independence was so important for the country.
3 - The 13 colognes were about the whole country and it means that they wouldn't become one, but still 13 independent states as one country.
4 - It is important because the document express the feeling of a nation who looks for happiness through freedom.
